I feel like I’m in a dream, and yet I’m very much awake. We were thirteen when we first met, we were just kids back then, and already we loved each other. It was a ten year long game of “on again, off again”. Then we both built our own lives, apart from each other. Only to finally find ourselves again, for good this time. We were too young, we had to build ourselves apart from each other in order to realize that we were truly meant for one another. Today, we keep the same promises as when we were teenagers, and my heart beats just as fast as when I was fifteen.
For the “first” time in my life, everything seems perfect to me.
I look around and realize that ever since your arms are wrapped around me again, I’m happy. You know, I found a place without tears, inside your heart, where I can rest whenever I want. I am surrounded by calm and there isn’t a detail I would change. I feel absolutely good, yet powerful, as in a dream. An immense, beautiful happiness inside. My body is shaped for your arms ; they are my home. Through your eyes, I feel beautiful again, a new woman.
